Parks and nature
Close to Majorstuen is Oslo's largest park, Frognerparken. In addition to its 200 famous sculptures created by Gustav Vigeland, there are great hiking opportunities throughout the year. This is a nice place to take your morning run, or just hang out with friends. There are also several smaller parks in the area, such as Marienlyst where you will also find a mini golf course. It is also easy to reach hiking areas in Nordmarka by subway from Majorstuen.
Culture, nightlife and shopping
In this area you will find the shopping streets Bogstadveien and Hedgehaugsveien which have a wide selection of shops, cafes and restaurants. Here you will also find Oslo's most famous cinema, Colosseum, and it is a short distance to the city center with many concert venues and theatres, bars and nightclubs.
Sports and training
From this area it is a short distance to SiO's gyms Athletica Domus and Athletica Blindern. Near Majorstuen you will find Frogner Stadium with tennis courts in summer and an ice skating rink in the winter. It is also a short distance to Bislet Stadium which has a running track, football pitch, basketball court and outdoor fitness equipment.
