Reportage from Bjølsen Student Village

This is how it is at Bjølsen Student Village

  • Construction projects at Bjølsen

    Replacement of windows

We will replace all the windows in Bjølsen Student Village with expected start in October 2024, and we plan to complete the project in autumn 2025. We are doing this to reduce heat loss, improve indoor climate, and significantly decrease energy loss. This will contribute to making the residences more sustainable.

    Working hours and noise

The working hours will be 07:00 - 17:00. There will be noise in the student village throughout the period, and residents will be especially affected by the noise when work is being carried out in their own building.

External scaffolding will also be used, and containers with windows will be placed outside the entrance areas.

We plan to spend one day replacing windows in each residence, and another day at a later time for completion of the work.

  • Car parking

There is a parking house in the student village. APCOA Parking rents out the parking spaces in the student village.

Read more about the parking arrangement here.

Guests must buy parking tickets from the machine or app.

At the entrance to the student village there is a barrier. If you are going to drive in by car, you can use your access card to open the gate. The card reader can be found on the house wall next to the barrier. Remember that you must have a code for temporary parking, which you must register in the Apcoa Flow-app before you can drive through the barrier. You can get a temporary parking code by contacting the SiO's customer service.

  • Storage room

Most tenants have access to a storage unit. For some the storage unit is inside the residence, but some will have their own storage unit in the corridor or common storage area. Remember to buy a padlock to secure your unit.

  • Public transport

Bjølsen has frequent bus connections both during the day and at night time.

  • Bicycle parking

All tenants have access to bicycle parking.

  • Waste
