Move in and pick up keys

Are you going to move into student housing with us? Welcome! Here you can read a bit about what happens until you finally move into your student housing.

Picking up keys

We will send you information about where, how, and when you can collect your keys via email no later than one day before your contract begins or before the agreed-upon handover date.

If you have not received an email the day before, please contact SiO Customer Service to arrange the handover.

When can I collect the keys?

  • You can collect the keys from 12:00 (noon) on the day your contract begins and within the next 14 days.

  • If you wish to collect the keys on a different day than the contract starts, please contact SiO Customer Service.

Are you unable to pick up the keys within these 14 days?

If you do not collect your keys within 14 days from the start of your contract, you risk losing your housing. Please contact SiO Customer Service to find a solution.

Is someone else picking up your keys for you?

Pick-up from a keybox:

We will send information on how to collect your keys from a keybox to the email address you have registered with SiO. You are free to share this information with a friend or relative, granting them access to collect the keys on your behalf.

Pick-up from SiO Customer Service Center or another pick-up location:

If your partner, a friend, or a relative is going to collect your keys on your behalf from the SiO Customer Service Center or another agreed-upon pick-up location, you need to send us an authorisation in advance. Here you can find information on how to send us an authorisation.

Where can I pick up my keys?

In most cases, we use our key boxes at the Blindern Campus. You can find the key boxes outside the entrance to the left of the SiO Customer Service Center. The Customer Service Center is located in Kristian Ottosens Hus, and the address is Problemveien 9. Keys that are not picked up will be removed from the key box at 08:00 the following day.

Some days, we have a particularly high number of students picking up their keys, and in these cases, we also use other pick-up locations. These can include:

  • Key box at Kringsjå Student Village

  • Pick-up at the SiO Customer Service Center

  • Pick-up at the Blindern Campus

Are you moving to Studenterhuset Schultz' gate?

If you are moving into Studenterhuset Schultz' gate, you will be contacted by the manager of the student house to arrange a time for key pick-up.
