Single room with private bathroom
This housing type is suitable for you if you want your own bedroom and bathroom, but want to share a kitchen.
Furniture
The housing is furnished with a wardrobe, bed and desk with chair. The bed is either 90x200 cm or 120x200 cm. It will be random which size the bed will be in your particular residence.
Most residences also have shelves, and some may have some other furniture as well.
It is not permitted to remove or replace the furniture that comes with the housing. If you do not want this furniture, we recommend that you apply for unfurnished housing types instead.
Flatmates
It is random which students you share with. They can come from all over the world, be of all genders and of different ages.
Living with others can be a great way to make new friends and acquaintances. This type of living is suitable for you if you are cooperative and flexible.
Kitchen
In the shared kitchen you can cook and get to know your neighbours. The kitchen is furnished with a table and chairs. In some places you will also find other furniture. The design and furnishings may vary from kitchen to kitchen.
The kitchen is typically in daily use by those who already live here. The tenants have a shared responsibility for cleaning. The tenants often agree to share some kitchen and cleaning equipment. It may therefore be best to wait until you move in to see what you need to get yourself.
Appliances
The housing comes with a stove, refrigerator and dishwasher.
Private bathroom
You have your own bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet.
Laundry
You will get access to the common laundry facilities. Read more about laundry and prices here.
It is not possible to install your own washing machine in your residence.
Bod
There is an external common storage unit.
Construction work near Sofienberg Student House
Oslo Municipality will upgrade the public water and sewage pipes in Skjelderups gate and Sverdrups gate.
The work will start in spring 2025 and is expected to be completed by summer 2026.
There may be short periods of water outages during the works. These will normally last less than 6 hours and should be notified in advance.
The work will cause inconveniences such as reduced accessibility, construction traffic, noise, vibrations, dust, possible odours, and temporary brown water from the taps. Blasting work will be carried out in certain areas along the route.
