Overview over valid ID

Are you planning to visit the SiO Customer Service Center? Remember to bring valid identification with you. Make sure to check the overview below beforehand, to avoid a wasted trip!

Approved ID

All countries:

  • Passport (not emergency Passport)

Norway:

  • Passport (not emergency passport)

  • Norwegian ID-card

  • Drivers’ license (issued after January 1 1998). Not the app

  • Norwegian bank card (with personal ID-number, picture and signature)

  • Norwegian Immigrant Passport (dark blue)

  • Travel document for refugees (dark green)

  • Norwegian military ID (Forsvarets ID-kort)

Nordic countries (Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Greenland and Faroe Islands):

  • Passport (not emergency passport)

  • Drivers’ license (issues after 1989)

  • Swedish national identity card

  • Finnish national identity card

Outside of Europe:

  • Passport (not emergency passport)

  • NB! You cannot use residence permit cards as identification

Europe:

  • Passport (not emergency passport)

  • National identity cards from the following European countries:

    • Austria

    • Belgium

    • Bulgaria

Non-approved ID

What is not accepted as ID?

  • When meeting in person, you need to bring physical ID

  • When meeting in person, we do not accept pictures of your ID

  • We do not accept apps, such as drivers´ licence app or student ID app

  • We do not accept ID in the BankID-app

  • We do not accept residence permit cards

  • We do not accept drivers´ licences from non-Nordic countries

  • Student cards cannot be used as identification
